Hello TumbleweedZ!
I just wanted to pass along a little note to both of you - something that made me feel REALLY good about John going to Tumbleweedz and all the teachers have done there for him. I was talking to my sister and telling her how John is really into writing lately; he can write the whole alphabet, and is constantly asking how to spell words so that he can write little notes to us. She was SO impressed with this, and mentioned how disappointed she is in her son's 4K program; she doesn't think there's a whole lot of "learning" going on there. She said half the class doesn't even know how to write their names yet! And she also mentioned that she feels that her youngest isn't where he should be academically either; their new daycare is just that - a daycare. There's no pre-school there at all, and apparently the teachers don't work with the kids on basics like their colors or counting like Barb and Erin did with the 2's ... She feels that her oldest son was far more advanced than her youngest is when he was that age.
So anyway, I just wanted you to know that you're doing a great job! Samantha was able to test into early entrance to kindergarten (which I hear is not easy to do), and John seems to be doing really well academically too for his age. No matter how much I (or Dad) would like to take credit for any of that, I'm thinking the endless hours of Lego Batman on the Wii when he's home with us probably isn't the reason... ?
